9 Months!

Asher is 9 months old!

No long post because my keyboard is seriously messed up (for example every time I type D it becomes caps lock...and I can't even type one word without some kind of problem).

"Why aren't the Wise Men doing anything?!"

This morning the first thing Jude asked me was, "why aren't the Wise Men doing anything?!'

I replied, "they made it to worship Jesus...so now that Christmas is done they aren't going to hide every day."

Thank goodness the Wise Men arrived because I am tired of hiding them every night. We had some great lessons though:

Jesus is the Great Healer - Psalm 103:3. The Wise Men consulted with Dr. Mick our chiropractor this morning and were attempting to give Jude's stuffed animals an adjustment. The Wise Men reminded us that just as we go every week to see Dr. Mick and get our spine adjusted we need to talk to Jesus every day to get our hearts adjusted. Jesus is the great healer. He heals our hearts and makes us right with God.

Jesus is the Truth - John 14:6. The Wise Men want Jude to read The Berenstain Bears and the Truth this morning to remind him how important it is to tell the truth and to teach him that Jesus is the truth.

Jesus is Immanuel - Isaiah 7:14. The Wise Men had us watch Buck Denver and friends explain the true meaning of Christmas, Immanuel, God with Us. We can't be perfect and so we can't be with God so God came to be with us and be perfect for us.

Jesus is the Messiah - John 20:31 . This morning the Wise Men taught us that Messiah means anointed one. In the OT people were anointed for special tasks. Jesus the Messiah was the one anointed for the special task of saving the world. The Wise Men thought about the boys gifts and then anointed Jude for the task of sharing the stories of Jesus today and they anointed Shiloh for the task of being a good helper today.

Jesus is the Good Shepherd - John 10:11. The Wise Men are teaching the boys today that we are like sheep and we have a Shepherd who takes care of us. They also want us to read The Legend of the Candy Cane today.

Jesus is Living Water - John 4. The Wise Men were helping themselves to some water this morning. They taught us that we have to drink water every time we are thirsty but if we drink from Jesus he will satisfy all our desires and we will not be spiritually thirsty anymore.

Jesus is the First and Last - Revelation 1:8, Revelation 22:3. The Wise Men taught the boys that Jesus is the A and Z, the first and last. He was before everything in the world and He will be after everything in the world.

Jesus is the Light of the World - John 8:12. The Wise Men were hiding in a dark closet with flash lights this morning. They taught the boys that the world was covered in darkness but then Jesus, the True Light, came into the world to shine light in dark places.

Jesus is our Redeemer - Job 19:25. The Wise Men taught Jude and Shiloh a hard lesson this morning - they both cried (not my intention). The Wise Men locked the boys favorite stuffed animals up in jail. The boys then had to search the house for money and choose wether they would buy back their stuffed animals or keep the money a decision that took several minutes and many tears. We explained to the boys that God made a hard decision to give up his son to buy us back, he redeemed us.

Jesus is The Servant King - Mark 10:45, Philippians 2:6-8. The Wise Men are teaching the boys today that Jesus out of love became a servant and when we love him his love fills us up and we become like him, servants.

Jesus is the Rescuer - Colossians 1:13. The Wise Men were rescued by Fire Fighters Blade and Dusty. They taught the boys that just as Dusty and Blade rescued them from danger Jesus rescues us from sin.

Jesus is Jesus! Luke 2. Rejoice! The Wise Men made it to Jesus bearing gifts they came to worship the child who's birth we celebrate on Christmas Day! He is Jesus, the Savior of the World!
