Little Scientist

Last week Shiloh had a field trip to Little Beakers with his MDO class. I was able to leave Ezra with my dad, thanks Pops! And was actually able to spend a little quality time with thing 2. Shiloh is such a sweet boy with a sweet personality and it was so fun to watch him do the little experiments at Little Beakers. I was quite impressed with his thoroughness, listening and carefulness to do exactly as instructed and think that if it interests him he could be a good little scientist on day.

Speech Meet

Jude competed in an ACSI speech meet on Friday. He was asked by his teachers in January if he'd like to compete in the 1st grade poetry section and he said yes. Some poems were sent home  and we read through them and he picked, Bird Talk by Aileen Fisher. It is super cute. Jude worked hard on memorizing it and mommy and daddy and even little brothers memorized it too. On Friday Jude recited it for a panel of judges and while he did not medal he did a great job and was awarded a ribbon for excellence (ribbons go: good, excellent and superior). Good job Jude!

An added bonus to Jude competing was that the competition took place in Huntsville and I realized Huntsville is the half way point between Cypress and Crockett so thanks to Jude and his bravery (to try something new) and hard work we thought to spend the weekend Crockett and had a great weekend at the farm!

p.s. - I'm still not on FB!
